Her documentary credits are equally impressive, including Ava DuVernay's "Venus Vs." and the Emmy-winning "Years of Living Dangerously," as well as Karen Guthrie's critically acclaimed "The Closer We Get." That same year, she was invited to join the British Society of Cinematographers (BSC), and she is also a full voting member of BAFTA.

Kate trained at the prestigious National Film and Television School, earning an MA in Cinematography with the support of the Freddie Francis Scholarship. She also studied film and digital media at the University of California, Santa Cruz, and holds a BA in English Literature and Theatre Studies from Leeds University. Her early industry experience includes work as a camera assistant on major feature films such as Batman Begins and The Brothers Grimm, which laid the foundation for her distinctive visual style.
